Meet Dr. Allison Nosilla (AKA Mrs. Renz) Your Expedition Leader |

Hello boys and girls in Mrs. Renz's 4th grade class in Redmond, Oregon! My name is Dr. Allison Nosilla and I am so excited to be your guide to the Channel Islands! Some people say I look a lot like your teacher, Mrs. Renz, and that is very strange, indeed! I am originally from Georgia (that's why I have a slight accent) and graduated with a Doctorate in geology from the University of Southern California many years ago. My goal is to take you on a virtual tour of the islands. We will learn all about the location of the islands and their geology (that's my favorite topic!), the pinnipeds which live there, the kelp forests, the Chumash people who inhabited the islands years ago, the coastal ecosystem, and how we can protect the Channel Islands for the future.
