There were only 48 stars on the flag when Pearl Harbor was bombed in 1941. There were six rows x eight stars = 48 stars in all. It's a multiplication problem! |

Morse Code for the letter "V" is three dots and a dash. It also stood for "Victory."

This is a "Blue Star Banner" sign families hung in their window in honor of their family members serving their country. The star turned from blue to gold when a family member in the service died. |
