HARRIET'S LIFE
Harriet Tubman escaped her slavery work when she was 25 in 1849, then she started her underground railroad experience. She was purely African ancestry, which means that she was pure black and that all her ancestors were black too. Sometimes she slept with her feet in the ashes to prevent from getting frostbite. She didn't have anything or anywhere to get warm, so she just used ashes. In Harriet Tubman's early life she didn't do much she just worked hard being a slave, but in Harriet Tubman's early life she liked working outside because she liked the fresh air, and she also didn't have to be beaten as much, but when she was inside she was beaten a lot because at night she had to rock the baby's cradle all night and if she stopped rocking and the baby woke up and started crying it would usually wake the mom up. If it did she would beat Harriet and it would hurt a lot. Harriet did not go to school or college she just spent her whole life working out in the fields. Harriet Tubman got married to John Tubman who was a nice free black man but when Harriet married him she did not become free and she thought that was not fair, of course I would too if I was a slave. Harriet had no children. That was good because if she did it would probably be hard to take care of kids and be a slave too, I know it would be hard for me to do that.

HARRIET'S EARLY LIFE
Maryland was a great place but she worked all the time so she couldn't really tell how great it was. Harriet Tubman's mom's name was also Harriet Tubman. She got her name from her mom. Her dad's name was Benjamin Ross, but his nickname was Ben. Harriet Tubman had 11 brothers and sisters, but she didn't get to see them very much because they were working and they couldn't talk to one another or they were either sold to another place and couldn't talk. But Harriet Tubman still loved them and they still loved her.

HARRIET TUBMAN DIED
Harriet Tubman died March 10,1913 in Auburn, New York. That was sad for a lot of people especially her family who were still alive. She died of pneumonia. All the people thought that Harriet was brave and a good leader. Harriet Tubman helped the world and the world's people out a lot by freeing the slaves, and by thinking of other people before herself, which is something we all should do. Harriet T. was hired out as a laborer by the age of five, which meant she started being a slave by the age of five. She was considered defiant and rebellious, so they made her work outside which was a good thing because she liked working outside. Harriet Tubman was a good person to follow because everyone that was a slave and wanted to be free (which was everyone) called her Moses because she helped everyone so much. That is no plain nickname. That's a meaningful one, so if you like that nickname then try doing good things like Harriet then you just might get it.
