In honor of Beverly Cleary's 90th birthday, we celebrated DEAR Day. That's short for "Drop Everything and Read." Mrs. Montreuil, our wonderful secretary, read two books to our class for D.E.A.R Day She is a great story reader! Did you know that Beverly Cleary grew up in Portland, Oregon author and that there really is a Klickitat Street in Portland? There are also a Beverly Cleary statues in Grant Park. Portland is about 3 hours from our school by car. Remember to read as much as you can in life. It is one of the simple joys you will find. |
