Wassily Kandinsky	Moscow, Russia	1866-1944	78	Considered the first abstract painter. Used brilliant colors and swirling movement using circles, squares & triangles.
Anna Mary Robertson Moses	Greenwich, New York	1860-1961	101	Self taught folk artist. Began painting at age of 70. Painted memories of long ago.
Robert Wyland	Detroit, Michigan	1956-	54 still alive	Paints underwater scenes of marine life. In 2011, he will complete his 100^th "whaling wall" mural. Lives in Hawaii.
Claude Monet	Paris, France	1840-1926	86	Leader of the "Impressionists." Created a garden full of flowers, water lilies, and a Japanese bridge.
