Following the Iditarod Trail

2011

Our students followed the race each day.  Students drew the name of an Iditarod musher and followed the progress each day, checking on the website each morning and moving the place markers around.  Students also did Iditarod Math Problems each day of the race.  At the end of the race, students shared a percentage of the Iditarod winnings, paid in our classroom dollars called "Collegiate Cash."  Several disappointed students whose musher had to scratch, felt badly, just as their musher surely did.   It was a great adventure, one which won't be forgotten soon.
