Students were invited to participate in a live web cast with researcher, Jackie Willis and Harriet Iseckse, from Montclair State University's Rainforest Connection.  They broadcast from the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in Panama on Barro Colorado Island in the middle of Gatun Lake.  We shared our rainforest riddles and learned all about four different rainforest monkey species:  the Howler Monkeys, red Spider Monkeys, Capuchins, and Tamarins.   Jackie and Harriet taught us all about the different monkey species by showing us movies and web movies.  We heard the Howler Monkeys in that background during the web cast and just missed seeing a Morpho butterfly!   Read Students' Rainforest Riddles

Our second live broadcast was about predators of the rainforest. We saw all kinds of creatures like a vine snake, an crocodile skull, howler and capuchin monkeys, ocelots, opossums, agoutis, tamanduas, and many more!  It makes us want to go a real field trip to Panama!
